The Indian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology is a peer-reviewed open-access medical journal published on behalf of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists. It was initially called Indian Journal of Pathology and Bacteriology. The journal publishes articles on the subjects of pathology (including surgical pathology, cytology, and hematology) and microbiology (including bacteriology, virology, and parasitology).

Profile

The founding editor in chief of the journal was the late Vanmali Saran Maglik (King George Medical College, 1958 - 60). Later editors were H. I. Jhala (1961 - 67), V. Ramalingaswami (1968 - 69), H. D. Tandon (1970 - 72, B. K. Aikat (1973 - 78), H.I. Jhala (1979 - 82), S. Nagalotimath (1983 - 87), K. S. Ratnakar (1988 - 92), V. H. Talib (1993 - 97), S. K. Shahi (1998 - 2002), and Harsh Mohan (2003 - 07). The current editor is S. Satyanarayana.
